Occupational Health and Safety Room
The BHP Room in Gdańsk is one of the most important places on the map of Polish history and an ideal attraction for both adults and children. Marina Club Children's Hotel particularly recommends this unique place as it combines a rich history with multimedia exhibitions and interactive attractions that attract not only tourists but also local residents. It is worth visiting to immerse oneself in the atmosphere of significant events for Poland, learn how Solidarity was formed, and see how history lives in a modern context.
What can be seen in the BHP Room?
The BHP Room is a place that combines museum space with modern multimedia solutions. Visitors can expect a rich exhibition dedicated to the history of the Gdańsk Shipyard and the Solidarity movement, which played a key role in Poland's political and social changes. While touring the room, one can view historical documents, photographs, video recordings, and interactive stations. Special attractions have been prepared for the youngest visitors - thanks to modern solutions, children can learn more about the times of the Polish People's Republic (PRL) and the challenges faced by Poland and also Gdańsk in the 70s and 80s through games and activities.
In the BHP Room, one can also see exact replicas of strike boards with workers' demands, which became symbols of the struggle for workers' rights and freedom. Exhibits such as original posters, flags, banners, and photographs transport visitors back to the historical August 1980. Adults can also rely on interactive stations that allow them to trace the history of Solidarity and learn about the key events in the Gdańsk Shipyard's history and the fates of its workers.
Brief history of the BHP Room
The BHP Room was once the site of health and safety training for shipyard workers, but its history took on new significance in August 1980, when the August Agreements were signed here. These agreements marked the beginning of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union
